7:00 PM Sally Wilkins-Presentation on Alternative Housing – Sally was not present.

A discussion ensued regarding what information the board members would like from

Sally. Hall, Jr said he would transmit the boards questions to Sally once the minutes are written. Hall, Jr. would like to know how many types of affordable housing Amherst allows and what problems they have encountered from this type of housing. Immorlica stated that she wants to know what changes Sally would recommend to our zoning ordinance Immorlica wondered if increased density on this type of housing creates problems on the town infrastructure. Immorlica also questioned the effect the adoption of alternative density zoning would have on our regulations. Hall, Jr said that Amherst has several zones for density which developers must follow. Immorlica said that residents must see a benefit from planned residential housing or they won’t support it. Spalding said he would like to know more about the Parkhurst development in Amherst as he believes it does not have individual homes. Immorlica asked if elderly housing overruled our multi-family restrictions. 7:25 PM James Bird was seated.

7:30 PM Review of Minutes Immorlica moved to pass over this item until everyone had a chance to read them. All agreed.

7:35 PM Immorlica opened a general discussion regarding scheduling a meeting with town attorney, Bill Drescher regarding phasing and impact fees. All agreed that the board should have the opportunity read a letter stating Mr. Drescher’s opinion prior to scheduling a meeting with him in person. Immorlica will transmit this request to Mr. Drescher.

8:10pm Bird moved to adjourn the meeting. Arico seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Respectfully submitted,
