Seated: Jim Bird, Don Gunter, Annette Immorlica and Wes Sonner, chairperson

7:10 PM The meeting began. The board discussed the Curtis property. The Curtis' asked for further clarification regarding the single lot determination made by the board at their last meeting. The board decided that a letter should be written to the Curtis' stating that they need to hire a professional and pursue their efforts to subdivide if they so choose to.

The board had a brief discussion regarding the guardrails on Dow Road. John Quinlan, a Selectman, was present in the audience. Immorlica asked Quinlan if the Selectmen could ask John Tenhave to provide an as-built plan if they waive the guardrails. Quinlan stated that the Selectmen would look into it. 7:30 PM Wes Sonner was seated. Immorlica asked if Quinlan had anything else to report from the Selectmen. Quinlan stated that the Selectmen sent a letter to Jon Springer regarding the work done on Lamson Road.

7:35 PM Budget Discussion Immorlica stated that the board needs more members and suggested that Sonner discuss going to a 5-person board with the Selectmen. Sonner stated that he feels they should make a stronger effort recruiting and suggested sending out mailers. Immorlica suggested that maybe they should have a planner or code enforcer in town, even part-time. Bird stated that maybe they could even pay people a small amount to be on the board. Gunter stated that they should ask new people in town. Quinlan stated that the board should draft a letter to the editor of the Amherst Citizen. Bird stated that the board should put a sign in front of Town Hall to notify people about upcoming meetings.

7:53 PM Bird motioned to buy an A-frame sign to place in front of Town Hall. Immorlica seconded. All were in favor. The motioned passed. Gunter stated that he would get the sign.

8:00 PM Review of the minutes Bird motioned to approve the minutes of September 8, 2009 as written. Sonner seconded. Immorlica abstained. Bird, Gunter and Sonner were in favor. The motion passed. Immorlica motioned to approve the minutes of September 22, 2009 as amended. Sonner seconded. All were in favor. The motion passed.

8:15 PM Immorlica motioned to adjourn the meeting. Bird seconded. All were in favor. The meeting was adjourned.
